KYC & AML Verification Cost Calculator 2026

Most KYC and AML providers hide their pricing behind "Book a Demo" buttons. This independent tool calculates and compares estimated monthly costs for 24+ top vendors based on your volume — enter monthly verifications, toggle liveness and AML add-ons, and see real numbers.
How KYC pricing works
Most modern KYC compliance and identity verification vendors price one of two ways: per verification (you pay a few cents to a few dollars for every ID checked) or flat monthly (a bundle that covers a fixed cap of checks).
Per-check vendors like Sumsub, iDenfy, and Veriff typically enforce a minimum monthly commitment so spend never drops below $49–$499. Flat micro plans look cheap until volume exceeds their bundled cap, at which point overage rates of $1.50–$2.00 per extra check kick in. At low volume (under 500/mo), per-check rates typically run $0.55–$1.50; at enterprise scale (50,000+/mo), rates compress to $0.05–$0.15.
The biggest cost driver after volume is which checks you run. Document-only verification is the floor; layering biometric liveness adds ~$0.30 per check, AML/PEP screening adds ~$0.10 per check. Calculate your monthly KYC cost
How to read these estimates
Per-verification pricing scales with volume. The calculator applies each vendor's monthly minimum commitment when your volume would otherwise sit below the floor.
Flat-rate pricing uses the plan's bundled cap. Once volume exceeds the cap, the calculator adds the published overage rate or shows "Plan cap exceeded" when no overage is offered.
Add-on surcharges are industry averages: liveness +$0.30/check, AML +$0.10/check. Vendors that lack a capability are marked as unsupported rather than forced into a misleading number.
Official vs Estimate badges mark whether a vendor publishes prices openly or whether the figure is a market estimate drawn from public quotes and aggregated sources.

The hidden costs of identity verification software
Per-check rates are the visible part of the bill. Three cost categories consistently surprise buyers after contracts are signed.
Integration & setup fees
Modern REST-based vendors (Sumsub, iDenfy, Veriff) waive setup fees on self-serve plans. Enterprise legacy systems are different — multi-region contracts frequently include professional services line items of $2,000–$5,000 that never appear in per-check pricing sheets. Always ask for the full statement of work before signing.
Re-try charges
Most per-check vendors bill for every API call, including failed attempts. A user submitting a blurry photo, retrying a liveness check, or failing document parsing each count as separate billable events. At scale this silently adds 10–20% to your nominal per-check cost. Some vendors offer a retry-free window (one free retry per session) — it's worth asking explicitly during procurement.
AML re-screening costs
Initial AML/PEP screening at onboarding ($0.05–$0.15/check) is one-time. Ongoing automated re-screening — required by FATF guidance for high-risk customers — typically runs $0.05–$0.10 per customer per month as a recurring line item. For a 10,000-customer base, that's $500–$1,000/month that does not appear in the calculator above, because vendors quote it separately from transaction-level KYC pricing.
Frequently asked KYC pricing questions
How much does KYC verification cost per check in 2026? +
Per-verification pricing for KYC vendors ranges from about $0.05 at enterprise tier (Sumsub, Persona) up to $3–$5 per check at low volume on starter plans. Most mid-market vendors land between $0.55 and $1.50 per ID verification, with biometric liveness adding roughly $0.30 and AML/PEP screening adding $0.10 per check.
What is a typical KYC monthly minimum commitment? +
Enterprise-grade KYC vendors usually require a monthly floor between $49 and $500 even on per-check plans. Sumsub's published minimum is $149/mo, iDenfy's is $135/mo, and ComplyCube's starter sits at $49/mo. The calculator applies these floors automatically so low-volume estimates stay realistic.
Do KYC vendors charge extra for liveness or AML screening? +
Yes. Document-only is the cheapest tier. Liveness (passive or active) adds $0.20–$0.40 per check; AML/PEP watchlist screening adds $0.05–$0.15 per check. The calculator applies $0.30 and $0.10 respectively as market midpoints — toggle the add-ons above to see the impact on your volume.
Is per-check or flat-rate KYC pricing cheaper? +
Flat-rate micro plans (under $20/mo) only stay cheap inside their bundled volume cap — usually 5–50 verifications. Above that cap they switch to per-check overage rates of $1.50–$2.00 and become more expensive than purpose-built per-check vendors at scale. Per-check pricing is almost always cheaper above ~500 monthly verifications.
Which KYC providers offer free tiers or trials? +
Sumsub, iDenfy, Veriff, ComplyCube, and Ondato all offer free trials (typically 14–30 days). Free production tiers are rare for KYC because each verification carries real compliance cost — providers either gate them at a few checks per month or require a paid commitment.
